On February 10, 2022, Arabella Advisors issued a GlobeNewswire release: “Arabella Advisors is thrilled to announce that Isaiah Castilla has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in Washington, DC.” The release said he would “focus on partnering with nonprofit organizations, foundations, corporations, families, and individuals seeking to advance social and environmental change,” and that he brought “significant expertise with issues including environmental justice, civic engagement and democracy, and criminal justice and policing reform.”
The same release said he came to Arabella “following four years as General Counsel at Democracy Fund, a private foundation working to protect and strengthen US democracy, and its affiliated 501(c)(4) organization, Democracy Fund Voice.” CEO Sampriti Ganguli is quoted praising a “unique combination” of issue knowledge, “philanthropic changemaking,” and “legal expertise.” Castilla is quoted: “My work at Democracy Fund directly exposed me to the best-in-class services Arabella offers to social changemakers and their funder partners.” And: “I am looking forward to bringing my expertise and passion to the team and expanding our support on a number of social impact issues and work to better serve and support organizations led by and serving people of color.” Those are the release’s words. They are not a court finding. They are not a client list.
This page records the employer announcement. It does not assign Arabella network grant totals to him. It does not rewrite later Arabella exposés as if they named him. His own later site dates the Arabella managing-director window 2020–2025. That date conflict is a separate episode. Both statements stay.
